Wave Snake No. 2

Wave Snake is an abstract exploration of two natural wonders—waves and snakes—both celebrated for their beauty, rhythm, and unpredictability. For Kori Gabs, these forms hold personal significance, representing the first loves of his life and an enduring source of fascination.

Each wave and each snake is singular, defined by its own movement, scale, and texture. Gabs captures this phenomenon by layering hand-cut stencils with black and silver spray paint, creating a surface that shimmers like snakeskin when illuminated by light.

Through this work, Gabs invites viewers to reflect on the interconnectedness of nature’s patterns and the way they shift between elegance and power, permanence and impermanence.
