Artist’s Statement

The act of taking photographs is my form of meditation and prayer. My hope is that the result - the photograph - can have a similar effect on the viewer. I choose to shoot analog film because it allows me to slow down, feel something tactile, and be a bit more present. This pace helps me explore the existential and chase the transcendental. I pray that I can capture just a glimpse of that wonder.

Biography

Nate Riedel is a professional cinematographer and photographer. He likes sharing his eye in a desperate attempt to not feel so alone. He feels most honest discussing thoughtful things with a sense of humor. His need to be understood is often overshadowed by his need to be funny.
